Swimming on a hot summer day is a great activity. Especially for students who have just arrived in the United States, they are full of curiosity about everything, and the blue private pool has a lot of temptation. Swimming fitness is a good thing, but please pay special attention to safety. A few years ago, a Chinese student at ASU was paralyzed and had to return to China because he did not pay attention to safety when using the swimming pool at night.
First, read the various signs carefully. The sound of the water, the time of use, whether you can dive, where the safety and life-saving equipment is, and other precautions are usually marked next to the pool. Please read it carefully and do not do anything that violates the rules. Do not swim late at night when it is not allowed, especially in conditions without lights. Second, when using the pool during the day, you should pay attention to using waterproof sunscreen to avoid sunburn. If you are well water-based, you should also pay attention to warm-up exercises, and do not swim alone, so that you can have a companion to take care of you. Do not play inappropriately in the pool, and pay attention to safety when diving. Third, it is recommended that everyone participates in CPR (artificial respiration first aid) training to save others and save themselves. If you are interested, please contact the person in charge of the Student Center.
