First of all, log into MyASU.
New students need to meet the advisor first. There is an Advising option on the website. When you put the mouse on it, you will have the contact information of the advisor. It is recommended to call directly for the first time and make an appointment with the advisor.
After meeting with the advisor, they will tell you which courses you should choose. The compulsory courses are those, and there are some electives. The specific requirements are different for each major.
The classes you need to take are also available in the Major map.
A recommendation for the courses you should take each semester will be displayed.
Courses are generally numbered with three letters (subject abbreviations) plus three numbers (course level).
CHM 114 is chemistry 114
ENG 101 Year 1 English Writing
When you choose a course, click Registration → Add → Search. On the Subject line, enter the three-letter number and fill in the number. For example, ENG107, which is required for all freshmen.
There are many classes to choose from, and then choose according to your time and location.
An instructor is a teacher. There’s a website called Rate My Professor. Enter the teacher’s name to know the level of teaching and the difficulty of the course.
Some teachers are not teachers, but doctoral or graduate students, and this category cannot be found, because they usually only have one year of courses.
The higher the overall quality, the better, and the lower the level of difficulty, the better it is to pass.
However, this website is for reference only, and you should not choose a professor who is too simple, so you don’t struggle in more advanced classes later.
Once you’ve selected your course, you can click Add → Next. Click proceed to 2 of 3. Then click Finish Enrolling and you’re done.
