WORD: God’s Gospel Geometry

Steve Houston • Acts 10

The lines and circles of the gospel reaching the Gentiles provide cues as to how God uses us to minister to the world around us.

  • The Lines Between Questions & Answers (10:1-33)
    • Cornelius: Questions in a Beeline toward Answers (:1-8, 30-33)
      • An angel told this godly Gentile that God had something more for him.
      • A delegation was “at once” sent 35 miles to get the apostle Peter.
    • Peter: Answers in a Beeline toward Questions (:9-29)
      • The Lord told Peter that a Gentile needed to hear what he had to say.
      • Though initially confused, Peter left promptly to meet with Cornelius.
    • Let’s walk the distance to make a beeline to meet truth needs!
  • The Circles of Race and Grace (10:34-48)
    • God Burst Open the Circle of Race (:34-43)
      • God first sent his word to Israel, the country of the Jews (:36,39)
      • God intended that his word be for everyone in every nation. (:34-43)
    • God Burst Open the Circle of Grace (:44-48)
      • At one time God offered “come-and get-it” grace to the world.
      • At this time God offers “coming-to-get-you” grace to the world.
    • Let’s have open arms in our circles of friendship and fellowship!

PRAY:

  • For those desiring to become pregnant and those seeking to adopt.

GIVE…God loves a cheerful giver (2 Cor. 9:7)

Giving to God is an act of worship (Matt. 5:23-24), as we are able to (Deut. 16:17), and with joy (2 Cor. 9:7-15). Some options: offering boxes in the lobby, using Zelle ([email protected]), or credit card.
