Pastor Sun Weiyang was born into a Christian family and has been deeply influenced by faith since childhood. His family provided him with important examples of faith and ministry: his father serves as a church elder, his mother was a preacher, and their family often hosted visiting Christians. He was baptized in his first year of college and gradually sensed a calling to full-time ministry. In 2018, through personal and family experiences, he reaffirmed God’s call and decided to devote himself to full-time service.
Pastor Sun received a bachelor’s degree from Zhejiang University of Technology in 2010. While in China, he received two years of full-time theological training at a local Seminary. Pastor Sun has long been involved in church and university ministry, serving as a university fellowship leader, full-time ministry intern, worship leader, and children’s Sunday school teacher. From 2015 to 2019, he served as a church preacher. From 2020 to 2022, he served full-time in pastoral ministry at Hangzhou house Church, where he was responsible for Sunday preaching, small group leader training, pastoral visitation, and church administration. He also participated in church planting near a university district, ministering to young professionals and university students.
In 2022, Pastor Sun came to the U.S. to study at Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary, and received an MDiv degree in Since moving to the U.S., he has actively participated in church ministry, serving in preaching, worship leadership, and leading home fellowship groups.
Pastor Sun and his wife, RuRu, have three children.
